The WIA program is designed to increase opportunities for adjudicated youth offenders to obtain employment, postsecondary training, and careers upon graduation. This competitive WIA American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant award supplements ASD’s regular WIA competitive grant award. Both grants support WIA efforts for ASD youth at McLaughlin Youth Center.
Workforce Investment Act ARRA funds support youth through:
- Paid internships and occupational certification classes for up to 10 additional youth participants.
