Key Communicators network

ASD Key Communicators are staff, parents and community members who are interested in our schools and would like to help improve communications between the district and the community. Most of this group's interaction will take place via e-mail and telephone, but the group will have non-mandatory meetings 2-3 times a year.

Questions & Answers

Who are key communicators?

ASD Key Communicators are staff, parents, students and community members who are interested in our schools and would like to help improve communications between the district and the community.

How does the district communicate with members, and how do members communicate with the district?

The group uses several methods of communication:

  • Email E-mail - The primary means of communication between the group and the district is e-mail. Informational e-mails from Superintendent Carol Comeau will be sent to members on a monthly basis (or more often, when necessary). Members of the group can contact the superintendent at comeau_carol@asdk12.org. Heather Sawyer can be reached at embley_heidi@asdk12.org.
  • Phone Phone - The district may occasionally use the district's telephone messaging service, to contact members regarding urgent issues. We may also contact some members directly on certain issues. Key Communicators may call the district with questions or concerns, as well. Heather Sawyer can be reached at 742-4150. Carol Comeau can be reached at 742-4312.
  • In person In person - In addition to the 2-3 group meetings each year, we welcome face-to-face meetings with members or groups. Please call Heather Sawyer at 742-4150 to schedule.

How does the program work?

Key communicators are kept informed of districtwide issues and events through e-mail messages and newsletters. They then are encouraged to share this information with their friends, neighbors and other community members through the course of normal conversation and interaction with others. Key Communicators also keep the district up-to-date with questions, concerns and rumors they have heard in the community.

The Key Communicators will meet 2-3 times each year to become acquainted with each other and various district personnel. Meeting attendance is not required for participation in the group.

Can I join the Key Communicators' Network?

Participants should be willing to share district information with the community, as well as share community members' concerns and questions with the district.

You will need to provide your:
