Mirror Lake Spanish Immersion students travel to SpainMirror Lake Spanish Immersion students travel to Spain

During spring break, Spanish Immersion students from Mirror Lake Middle School traveled to Spain with Mirror Lake Spanish Immersion Teachers Ynez Slaymaker and Sandra Schmidt. The group, along with nine adult chaperones, traveled to Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Costa del Sol, Seville, Cordoba and Madrid.

"The trip was a phenomenal success. Throughout the tour, we received many positive comments about the Spanish speaking ability of our students. This was a great confidence booster for their many years of dedication to Spanish Immersion programs," said Slaymaker.

Other staff members who joined as chaperones included: Mirror Lake Assistant Principal Kurt Mueller; Eagle River Elementary School Teacher Patty Ortiz-Perham; Chugiak Elementary School Librarian Kim Girard; ASD Payroll Specialist Lori Robison; and AVAIL Teacher Ron Prewitt.
