All schools provide tours to interested parents. While walk-in requests may be accommodated, it’s best to call ahead and schedule a convenient time.
In the spring, some schools choose to hold roundup events to introduce kindergartners to their school. Of those that do, the type of activity, date and time vary. If you have a soon-to-be-kindergartner, check with your neighborhood school to see if they have an event planned.
Orientation
After registration, schools will contact families to arrange appointments for orientations.
Kindergarten teachers will meet individually with parents and students for a brief orientation and assessment activities the week before school starts. This information assists teachers in making decisions about classroom instruction and helps establish a positive partnership between the home and the school. Call Elementary Education, 907-742-4254, for more information.
